Lucan CNS operates within the framework of the Department of Education and Science and follows the Primary Curriculum prescribed by the Department of Education and Science.

Lucan CNS is a newly established Community National School, which opened its doors in Septmeber 2013. Operating under the patronage of Dublin and Dun Laoghaire Educational Training Board (formerly Co.Dublin CEV.), Lucan CNS is one of seven Community National schools operating nationwide.

Lucan CNS caters for children of all faiths and none. It is our policy to respect, celebrate and recognise diversity in all areas of human life. Our Pupils are taught to embrace and foster diversity and independent thinking where respect and a healthy appreciation of ethnic, cultural and religious differences are regarded as the norm, not the exception. In collaboration with parents who are the primary educators we will operate parallel to their wishes, complimenting and reinforcing their respect for a multi denominational society where mutual respect for beliefs is paramount in the entire educational process.
