This year we were lucky enough to have two after school art clubs. In this post we will review the work that the club did with Múinteoir Laura in 4 short weeks!
In week 1 and 2, we began a paper collage of a cow as our theme was ‘On The Farm’. We created the cow from different types of paper and we made it look different from a regular cow in a field. Here are some images of the finished product.


 
In week 3 and 4 we created a clay thatched cottage, similar to ones that may be seen in the countryside. We loved creating clay.
We learnt how to attach the clay parts properly using the ‘hashtag’ method, as we liked to call it. We learned that our clay pieces could not be too thin or it would break. We also learned how to add texture to the clay and raise some parts of our designs. We finally painted the clay in week 4 when the clay was dry. We are so proud of our designs- check out our work in progress and finished designs below.
 
We hope to get back making wonderful creations in the next school year!
